How to Calculate Your Life Path (Properly)

Hey loves!

Calculating the Life Path number is very easy, though I have noticed some online sites have misinformation on the matter. All we need to start is a birthday- let's take February 6, 2019 as an example:

February 6, 2019

Our first step is to reduce each component (month, day, year) of the birthdate into a single digit, separately:

February 6, 2019

| | |

2 6 (2+0+1+9)

|

12 |

(1 + 2)

|

3

The month and day were easy (they were already single digits)! If, say, the day of the month were the 11th or the 22nd, we would not reduce these to a single number, because they are what are called Master Numbers. All other multi-digit numbers get reduced. Notice the year (2019): first we added the digits across (2+0+1+9) and came to 12. The number 12 is not a Master Number (11 or 22), so we have to reduce again (1+2) to come to our single digit reduction: 3!

Next, we add together our reduced month, day and year:

February 6, 2019

| | |

2 + 6 + 3

|

11 Life Path

Look! We've got ourselves a Master Number 11, here! Had our result been any other 2-digit number (except the 22, which follows the same rules here as the 11), we would have to reduce again until we reach a single digit. For example, let's say our birthdate was the day before:

February 5, 2019

| | |

2 + 5 + 3

|

10

|

(1+0)

|

1 Life Path

The important thing to keep in mind, here, is that the month, day, and year must be reduced separately before being added together. Otherwise, Master Numbers can either be lost/overlooked OR Master Numbers can come up that aren't supposed to be there. Reduce separately first, then add. Also, don't reduce any Master Numbers (11 or 22) if they do happen to come up.

Yay! Now you've got the low-down on how to do this properly. Have fun calculating your own Life Path (and anyone else's you decide to try ;P ).
